I met a rockhound at the Franklin, NJ show who gave me directions to a site in Macadoo, Pa. He told me it was after a large watertower next to an old cigar factory. I stoped at the first road stop (side of the road) and walked to the end of the trail to find a huge strip pit. He said there would be a hole. I went down and had a hard time getting out. Can Anyone verify if I was at the right spot? Thanks

Bill,
Pennsylvania hunters are currently enjoying archery season right now. For OUR safety & respect towards the hunters, collecting is temporarily on hold.
Thanks for the heads up on the Hunting season. Half of my family are hunters in all seasons. I will keep the season in mind. I always wear bright colors in the fall (orange) when in the woods. I’m planning a Sunday trip for 10-28-12 would that clash with the season? I ran into 4 others this weekend hounding. They were all local folks who helped me find what I was looking for.
Thanks for the Heads up Tom!
hi bill i also heard about this location but i have not gone looking for it but i would like to i am available to join you on the 28 th if you would like to show a fellow rockhound email to tohenshue@ptd.net or call 610-751-4400 thanks tom
Hey I met the same guy at the Franklin show, but couldn’t get the directions from him before it started raining on Saturday. I’d be interested to get the detailed directions so I can head out there for a dig in the spring. Would you email them to me? 🙂
Hey guys, it’s Shawn. Sorry for the delay in replying, I was the one at the Franklin show. Shoot me an email at shawn71boyle@yahoo.com or feel free to add me on facebook (user name “cnyer”) and I’ll hook you up. Deer hunting is not allowed in PA on Sundays(unless they recently changed the law).
